BCG vaccine, used outside the U.S. for the prevention of tuberculosis, can theoretically cause disseminates disease and thus affect the fetus.
Although on harmful effect to the fetus have been associated with BCG vaccine, its use is not routinely recommended for U.S. travelers. Skin tasting for tuberculosis exposure before and after travel is preferable when the risk in the high.
